The SCC 'Super Hole' Challenge
A season long tournament. At each Swing tournament, 1 hole will be selected as the SCC Challenge hole (for instance 15th hole at Kent & Surrey). Whatever the gross score by each player for that hole, that will be marked as their score on the SCC Challenge leaderboard.
Your best 10 holes (relative to par) will be used to calculate your Total. So the more tournaments you enter, the better chance you have of posting 10 good holes.
The player with the best total (under par) at the end of the season will be the winner.
Increased Ranking Points
Players missing the cut still get 1 SCC Ranking point. All other players in the tournament have their SCC Ranking Points increased by 1 point. (So if you make the cut, the minimum points available are 2pts).
Order of Merit Points
Order of Merit points have now increased by 1 point. If there are 24 eligible players in the field, the winner will now receive 22pts instead of 21pts. If you turn up for a tournament and miss the cut, you now receive 1 point on the Order of Merit. If you turn up for all 4 Swing tournaments and miss the cut in all 4, you will still have 4 Order of Merit Points. Players making the cut will receive a minimum of 2 points.
SCC Handicaps
We have altered the SCC Handicapping system slightly. Players playing outside of their buffer zone now have their handicaps increased by 0.2. Conversely the new system would be to cut 0.2 for CAT1, 0.3 CAT2, 0.5 CAT3 & 0.8 CAT4 for every point over 36pts scored. So for instance a Category 3 player shooting 40pts would see 2 strokes off their handicap. (4pts more than 36pts - 4x0.5=2) Whereas a Category 4 player shooting the same score would see 3.2 strokes off their handicap.
We have done this in the hope that it will make everyone much more competitive. Players, playing well will see their handicap drop quicker and closer to their current ability. Whereas players playing poorly will gain shots quicker helping them to become more competitive.
SCC TourTracker
As demand for SCC TourTracker has fallen, we have decided to put it on the backburner for a while.
