How The SCC Team Trophy Works

The SCC Team Trophy is a fun team event to round of the end of the calendar year, before the SCC Tour takes around an eight week break over the shortest days.

Depending on how many players enter the event, there will be a teams of 3 or teams of 4.

If there are teams of 4, it will be the best 3 scores on each hole are added together.

If there are teams of 3, it will be the best 3 scores on each hole are added together.

Each team will also be given a Yellow ball. This Yellow ball must be rotated through the team on each hole. For instance player 1 will play the Yellow ball on holes 1, 5, 9, 13. Player 2 will play the Yellow ball on holes 2, 6, 10, 14 etc.

If it is a team of 3, then each player can possibly play the Yellow ball 6 times each, if they haven't lost it. If it is a team of 4, then each player can possibly play the ball 4 times each. For holes 17 & 18, then team can nominate the players they wish to play the Yellow ball. But they must choose a different player on each of the last two holes.

Here is the fun bit. The Yellow ball score must count on each hole that the team still have it. It is also worth Double Points. So the pressure is on the player with the Yellow ball to gets points on their hole.

If a team loses the Yellow ball, then they continue playing The SCC Team Trophy with just a white ball each. But they forfeit the chance to get Double Points on each hole with that ball. Teams must note down the hole that they lose the Yellow ball on. (If they do lose it).

If a team keeps the Yellow ball all the way around, then all 3 scores for the 18th hole are doubled.

The team with the highest stableford score at the end are the winners.

There will also be a prize for the player who scores the most points. Best Individual Score. (That includes their points when playing the Yellow Ball).

This is a fun competition to relax and round of the calendar year before we have our Winter break.
